TJ is the kind of person who believes a conversation with a stranger is just a friendship waiting to happen—and he’s rarely met a stranger he couldn’t talk to. Whether behind the pharmacy counter, holding a power tool, or cheering a teammate on in a Spartan race, TJ brings energy, curiosity, and a genuine desire to serve others.
TJ earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from NC State University before completing his Doctor of Pharmacy at Wingate University. After spending five years as a pharmacist with Harris Teeter Pharmacy, he took a leap of faith and followed his dream of independent pharmacy ownership. Today, he serves as the pharmacist and part owner of Indian Trail Pharmacy, where he has the privilege of caring for his community one conversation, one prescription, and often one prayer at a time.
A natural creator and problem solver, TJ loves working with his hands and is always up for a challenge. He is the kind of person who sees a project and thinks, “I can build that.” (And then he actually does.) He was the mastermind behind the family’s modern farmhouse build, framing walls, installing flooring and trim, and proving that a love for power tools and a little determination can accomplish just about anything. His creativity, resourcefulness, and legendary frugality have made him the family’s go-to guy for figuring out how to make things happen.
TJ and Deanna met through their youth group and have attended more proms together than most people could ever imagine—three during high school and countless others during Deanna’s years working in education. They are raising two teenage boys and are passionate about creating a home where faith is lived out in the everyday moments.
Whether he’s counseling a customer, praying with someone walking through a difficult season or racing up a mountain with Spartans, TJ is passionate about showing others that wherever God places you, there is an opportunity to love people well and point them toward Jesus.

Deanna is convinced that relationships change lives - and after nearly two decades working with teenagers, she's had the privilege of watching that happen time and time again.
A proud North Carolina Teaching Fellow, Deanna earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology and Social Studies Education from NC State University before spending seven years teaching AP Psychology and Civics at a local public high school. While teaching, she earned her master's degree in School Counseling from UNC Charlotte. She is now in her tenth year as a high school counselor at a local charter school, where she walks alongside students as they navigate the academic, social, emotional, and career decisions that shape their futures. She also teaches high school psychology virtually, continuing her passion for equipping and encouraging the next generation.
When she's not at school, you'll find Deanna tending to her flower garden, piecing together a quilt, training for her next race, or planning her family's next travel adventure. During COVID, she and her husband, TJ, her high school sweetheart, served as the general contractors for their self-built modern farmhouse, proving they're not afraid to chase big dreams together.
Deanna and TJ are raising two teenage boys who may just eat them out of house and home. They have learned that the most meaningful ministry often happens in the ordinary moments of everyday life. Whether at home or in the workplace, they are passionate about sharing the love of Jesus.
