Pastor Kenn Hucks

Since answering God's call to ministry in 1982, Pastor Kenn has devoted his life to one unwavering mission: faithfully preaching the whole counsel of God's Word. He has served as Senior Pastor of Sardis Baptist Church since 2007, after previously serving the congregation from 1994 to 2002.

Whether preaching on a Sunday morning, teaching verse by verse through Scripture, or investing in the lives of those God has entrusted to his care, Kenn's passion is simple: to help people know Christ by knowing His Word. His long-running Verse by Verse teaching ministry reflects that same commitment to faithfully walking through Scripture, one passage at a time.

A native of rural Conway, South Carolina, Kenn earned degrees from the University of South Carolina and Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary before following God's call into pastoral ministry. More than four decades later, his conviction remains unchanged: every verse matters because every word points us to Christ.

Kenn is deeply grateful for his beautiful bride, their family, and the growing crew of grandchildren. Whether he's investing in the next generation around the dinner table or behind the pulpit, his desire is the same: to leave a legacy of faithful disciples who love Jesus and stand firmly on His truth.

When he's not preparing sermons, you'll likely find Kenn crafting something beautiful in his woodworking shop, or delivering a perfectly timed dad joke that somehow manages to earn both laughter and eye rolls in equal measure.

Above all, Pastor Kenn wants people to fall in love with God's Word, trust it completely, and live it courageously. Because when Scripture becomes the foundation of our lives, we don't just survive the storms...we stand firm through them.
